In the heart of the most breathtaking 20 km stretch of the Dordogne, the Périgord Noir, based just 6 km from of the impeccably preserved medieval village of Sarlat, France, professional photographer, Cynthia Royce, offers a vacation tailored for photo enthusiasts.
Dordogne river - Domme Beynac street Rocamadour
Cynthia teaches photography in both America and
France, as well as being an internationally
published photographer and travel writer.
Spend a week capturing the essence of the region with daily excursions
throughout the area, including the twisting, cobblestone streets of the fortified bastide
town of Domme, the enchanting riverside towns of La Roque-Gageac and
the incredibly perched, Castle Beynac, as well as other hidden treasures.... (shhh, only revealed to those choosing
to make this enticing adventure a reality!) The highlight of the trip
will be a hot air balloon ride, in order to photograph, by air, this incredibly beautiful
stretch of the Dordogne river.
Having lived in the Dordogne for five years, Cynthia offers you an experience no other photographer can. She will share with you the well-guarded tips and favorites of her neighbors and friends, not just the tourist haunts. The vacation is designed to help photographers of all levels, digital or film, achieve the results they strive for, by providing individual pointers and spectacular locations for shooting.

Free time (yay!) or nap time (we're in France!) 5:00-6:30 Conference to critique work (don't worry, it's just a discussion) 6:30-8:30 Shooting (again to catch the light) Dinner... late (we're in France, remember!) |

Castle Montfort |
At the end of the week, there will be
a communal meal at one of Cynthia's favorite local restaurants.
It isn't necessary to have a car as Cynthia will pick you up at the train
station, either in Sarlat or Gourdon, and shuttle you from
location to location. However, for those who wants more flexibility to
explore, a rental car is advised as we are within walking distance to three
restaurants but no stores. Cynthia speaks French, so no worries there, just
relax and concentrate on bringing home a portfolio of memories.

"One of the reasons I moved to France is
that there is always an adventure around the next turn; something unexpected.
I try to make photography an illuminating and exciting experience. So,
grab your camera and let's have an adventure!" -Cynthia "If you have the opportunity to work with Cynthia, you will be able to study her ability to manipulate lighting and her attention to detail. It is the depth of the photo that captivates you; as you look further each layer is revealed." -Maryse and Alain Garidillou Moulin du Roc Hotel |
